I copied this from another group. I think this is an honest review of the plugin by someone who did not like it and explains why ...
FXTA: I have decided to pass on FXTA for trading FX intraday after my 30 day period. I joined the FXTA group, sent in a couple of e-mails and then when I said that I was passing on FXTA and why, my e-mail got screened out and never was posted. I tried a second time sending an e-mail in and have yet to see it posted. It is useless to be part of a group that screens any negatives out, because then all you hear are the rosy things and don't see the full picture. Yes - I have
unsubscribed to FXTA Yahoo group also.
1. FXTA gives too many signals and can cause some serious drawdowns. It also requires you stay at the screen and keep looking at the viewing commentary for alignments. In my case, I was not prepared to do that while holding a day job. Its not a bad software at all - quite good really as long as you are a screen junkie. Also, you really can't go forward unless you sign up and take the intermediate training at a minimum, which was another $399 or so.. I asked if Peter D (writer of the software) could place major entry and exit signals that were more choosy and where the times all aligned, turqoise bars and diamonds etc.. Sometimes the signal disappears. FXTA 5' also was not suited to be backtested.. meanwhile other systems backtesting suggests that the cost of trading and pips spread commissions is going to wipe out gains. The daily signals actually look good.
2. I thought the price of FXTA was high at $80 to $100 per month to lease use of it compared to the usual $300 flat cost for a plug-in. add $135 per month for QC and it starts costing $200++ per month on fees alone. If you started with a $10K account, you'd have to clear 20% profits before ringing your own cash register. I am not naive enough to think that is simple to do. Meanwhile I am seeing very positive results with my older trading
systems and other systems I have purchased for intraday data on equities. The alert system is working flawlessly .. and recently saved me enough money to pay for QC for the whole year..
I do like MS regardless.. I have found their tech support people always very helpful and willing to work with me. Keep up the good work.
Thanks
