my removed post had nothing to do with the metastock developers kit (MDK) so don't know why you removed it. i also referenced various freely available libraries and documents across the internet which describe the de-faco metastock binary file format.
reverse engineering a data file format for the purposes of interoperability is not illegal at all. you can't even copyright or patent a data file format. microsoft tried to ban people from reverse engineering the microsoft word .doc format and were recently forced to publish the .doc binary file format specifications due to anti trust legislation.
that equis insists on this being an illegal activity is ridiculous.
if it was so illegal why have trading tools been offering the metalib sdk for so many years now and you haven't prosecuted them?
