    Quotecenter realtime data into excel

    Hi,

I trying to get realtime data from Quotecenter into excel. My requirement is to get data of 500 symbols into excel at 1, 5-min interval.

I know that DDE can provide data into excel but somehow not able to set that up. If someone can provide me a sample file/giude me that would be great.

I have added Add-ins , Btool, BExtra to excel but when i try to run Dynamic symbol table, it gives me a message "Unable to connect to Reutrers Station ot you are not permissioned for BExtra."

I am connected to Reuters station. Do I need any separate permissions for BExtra?

Thanks a lot for your help.

BTOOLS.XLA is the only DDE tool we are permissioned for.  Anything beyond that and you'd have to subscribe to the full Reuters Station product.  QuoteCenter is a tailored down "retail" version of an institutional product and many advanced features are not available to us.

I can tell you that DDE in general can be very CPU intensive.  While theoretically you can load a list of 500 symbols into Excel via DDE, I am not sure how well your PC would handle that in terms of CPU usage.

We do have a guide for setting up the Btools.xla, but it's pretty straightforward.  Simply click Tools-->Add-ins, browse to the BTools.XLA located in your QuoteCenter folder, and you should get a "Reuters Tools" menu to appear in Excel, to the right of the Help menu.

Do you need historical pricing for each symbol or do you just need a streaming last sale price?
