    Re: Formorg.exe abnormal program termination

Could be an issue with ST_DATA.MDB (MetaStock folder) which is the Enhanced System Tester file.  If you don't have any custom systems you might lose, you could delete this ST_DATA.MDB and reinstall MetaStock.

It is also possible that the error is related to JET or MDAC components on the system.  You can try running the MDAC Component Checker, by performing a Scan against the appropriate MDAC installed for your version of Windows.  Make note of any MISMATCH items found.

    Re: Formorg.exe abnormal program termination

    thanks Justin for your reply!

I checked the mdac part and replaced the files with the right version except msxml3 which cannot be replaced and the installation of it also cannot happen as it sayd I have a higher version than the one the checker need (8.70)

How to check the jet part? any specfic version it needs? And how do I check

the same metastock version is running fine on my laptop - probably I have less installed stuff on it

    Re: Formorg.exe abnormal program termination

If it truly is a JET problem unfortunately there is no way to easily reinstall.  However there are some things to rule out before assuming it would be a JET problem.

When you access the "Organizer" button from within any of the power tools, I believe it has to read all the various formula files regardless of which power tool you start in.

Are you able to open all the power tools?  Can you open Indicator Builder, Expert Advisor, Explorer, and System Tester?  Can you run an exploration and a system test?

You may also try running the FormOrg.exe (in the MetaStock folder) within Safe Mode.  There have been instances of something running in the background that could cause the crash.  Note that you cannot open MetaStock 10+ in Safe Mode so you would have to launch the FormOrg.exe directly.

Also, the information I mentioned regarding the ST_DATA.MDB file is also important, as a damaged ST_DATA file can definitely cause this issue as well, and reinstalling without first deleting the file will not install a clean copy of the file.

    Re: Formorg.exe abnormal program termination

i copied the st_data file from my laptop to the desktop and now it can open the organizer.
But all the formula are not available (since the installation aborted too)

can the formula be copied from one computer to another too?

    thanks again!
