Hi folks

Have recently upgraded to MS Pro, as I wanted to back test some intraday data that I have.

I do not intend to use MS for live intraday charting / trading, as I am an EOD trader. I understand that MS offline mode is the package to use for EOD charting.

The problem I have is that when first installing MS I rmust have chosen the wrong option somewhere, as it attempts to connect to the data server when my PC is turned on. I seem to recall that there may have been an option for the online version of MS Pro to only connect when the online program is opened, but I am unable to work out how to change the settings to do this.

I have tried removing the Quote Centre program, but this only stopped the automatic attempts to logon / connect to QC.

Any ideas on how I can change the settings so that MS Pro (online version) either doesn't attempt to connect to the MS Data Server at all, or only when ithe program itself is opened?

There should be a shortcut for the MetaStock File Server in the "Startup" program folder of Windows.  Usually this is under:

Start-->All Programs-->Startup

or

Start-->All Programs-->Accessories-->Startup

You should be able to right click on the shortcut and choose Delete to remove it from this startup area.
