What is the indicie symbol for the Dow Jones Industrial Average using QuoteCenter? us&djix, us;djix, us&djia, and us;djia doesn't work.

If you are subscribed to the North American symbols package, it is included. If the symbol is not on your list, you'll have to create it. Select OPEN CHART. In the symbol box of open file dialog, type in 'us;djx' and select OPEN. The New Symbol dialog box will open. Fill in the name 'DJ Average' or whatever you want. Move down to and select a TYPE from the dropdown box. Other fields in this dialog are optional. Set them per your preferences. When done, select OK and your symbol should load.

"DJIX", DJI, DJIA, and "&DJIX" does not work in MetaStock 9.2. Am subscribed to North American symbols package. Called three times on this issue. Can get NASDAQ and S&P500. Please advise.

The correct symbol should be us&DJI

If you want, save this file to C:\\Program Files\\Equis\\The DownLoader

It will contain a list of missing common US Indices

Joe, that's strange. I'm usingthe same setup. Did you prefix the symbol with "us;"? Did you try "us;djx"? That wasn't on your reply.

Hi,

Im MetaStock 9.2, went to File/Open/"QuoteCenter" folder/Symbol:/us;djx doesn't work. Please advise. Also went to "QuoteCenter" folder/Indicies folder and tried the following us&DJIX [name shows as DJIA], but nothing opens [blank chart from about 40 to 55].

Did you try to d/l Pyradius' sym file? That will give you the accurate symbols. Sounds like maybe you aren't subscribed to the indicies as you think. It might be worth calling sales to confirm your status just to rule it out as a cause for your problems.

As an alternative, you still have the datalink symbols available.

Found the answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to Indicies folder. North American, type us&dji and you will get djix. Right click properties on djix and remove the "x". It's that simple [sure - after the fact]!

Hi, this will work for metastock eod 10.1 as well?

What I'm doing currently is: open downloader, file --> new --> security --> click the lookup button --> and search for .DJI.

There are two of them there but either will give me the needed data.  It failed to download the chart.
