Anyone know where I find the SOX in Metastock (quotecenter feed)

Trying to locate the semiconductor index (SOX). Can't find it in any of my metastock (quotecenter) folders.

    Tnx

    Attachment: QC Common Indices.sym
There are a few common indices that are not able to be compiled in the Symbol Database.  I have attached a custom symbol file that you can save in The DownLoader folder (Usually C:\Program Files\Equis\The DownLoader).  Once this is done, you should see the symbol us;SOX show up in the Symbol Database.  You will have to restart MetaStock to see this.

Thank you, I now have my SOX !

I now have duplicates of some other indices , but I guess there is no harm in that, is there ???

There is no harm in this, no.  The only difference between the SYM file and built-in symbols is that the start and end times on the SYM file symbols are set from Midnight to Midnight.  This should not be an issue since they should not be receiving data outside the trading hours anyway.  You will also notice a different icon next to SYM file symbols.  SYM file symbols have a person's head next to them, while built-in symbols have a bull icon next to them.  If you prefer, you can always choose to use the bull icon symbols whenever you have a duplicate.
