Price Headley's Big Trends Toolkit Plug-In Question

    Good Morning,

Today, I have a question regarding to the Big Trends Toolkit - Price Headley Plug-In for MetaStock.

Currently I'm looking to buy it first I want to fully understand what I'm doing wrong. I'm looking to trade the one trading strategy listed below.

I have seen the Plug-In  from a friend of my who purchased it last year and we have played around with one of his strategy, it can be found on page 32 through 34 in the User Manual. Its the  Percentage Above Long-Term Moving Averages (Percentage above 200 Day Moving Average and Percentage above 400 Day Moving Average) it mentions it was designed to highlight stocks (often small-cap companies that are entering a surging growth phase) which show the potential for dramatic price movement over 1-12 months.

Under the Percentage Above 400 Day Moving Average it shows an example of a past trade going back to 2005. The stock was Nutrisystem (NTRI)  power rallied from $4.00 to above $70.00 in 2005, after the stock was more than 100% above its 400 day moving average line. These are the type of stocks I be interested trading in, by running the Exploration to find my stocks to identify and trade.

We have used the Russell 2000, Nasdaq, Amex, NYSE, and S&P 600 members and when we run the exploration all we get is No Securities to Report or stocks to exit out of the trade The only one we haven't tried was the Russell Micro-Cap members. Does it matter which stocks we do use?

Hope you be able to help me find a answer to my questions and shed some light what we need to do or what we may be doing wrong.

Thank you for your effort in helping me in solving my problem.

What are your load options set to in The Explorer?  While useful at times to improve the speed of explorations, the "Load Minimum Records" option under the "Options" button at the bottom of The Explorer menu can fail to properly calculate the true minimum records required to perform the test.  Try setting this to a specific number, i.e. 500 and see if it changes the results.

Also keep in mind that in order to trigger a buy it has to be 100% or more of its 400 day moving average.  That's a very high number to hit.
