    Volume data for indices

    Hi all,

I'm using EOD data from Reuters, but there is no volume data for the indices.

I consider volume an essential part of my trading, so does anyone know where I can get volume data quickly and easily?

And also, where historical data might be available?

    Many thanks,

    Rob

    Re: Volume data for indices

    We have volume for:
Dow Jones Industrial Average (volume back to 1992, data back to 1896)
NASDAQ 100 (volume back to Oct 2006, data back to 1985)
Russell 2000 (volume back to 2000, data back to 1997)
    S&P 500 (volume back to 2000, data back 1928)

These are included in our US stocks data package.

We don't have volume for the others you have listed.

    Re: Volume data for indices

    Richard,

Does the US stock data package include volume data for sector indexes like Dow, Nasdaq and S&P sectors?

Or, does anyone know of a data vendor who does include volume with sector indexes?

Yes we do sector volumes for the Dow Jones US and S&P sectors (and lower level) indexes.
