I used the default data CD that came with Metastock and apparently you have to download a symbol updater from http://www.equis.com/customer/support/download/symbolutility.aspx

Wish that was documented a little better and I didnt have to raise a support case but cest la vie.

Re: Sector data missing (?) from Sectors and Indices folder

I queried this a while back but Rueters Datalink doesn't:

a) Provide stocks divided into sectors by any known classification scheme (eg GICS or ICB) - it could be using Hemscott/Morningstar classifications where aren't widely used (you don't see any ETFs based upon that data)
b) Provide classification updates on the sectors

If you really need it, time to look elsewhere.

Sector data missing (?) from Sectors and Indices folder

Hi there,

My MetaStock data folder's "Sectors and Industries" and "Stocks grouped by Sector" folders in no way match the S&P categorisations: http://www2.standardandpoors.com/spf/pdf/index/SectorIndices.pdf

I am using a Reuters EOD data feed but this is from the CD that arrived with MS 10.1

Is there a way to have local data more aligned with GICS ?
