This will automatically close the chart you're applying the template to, so that if you then try and save this chart as the "smart chart", you can go to File-->Save As, change the Save Type to "Smart Chart" and click Save and replace the existing smart chart without incident.

Re: Reseting a Securities Layout, etc

Volume is an indicator available in the indicator quicklist; just select it and drag-and-drop it in a new chart window, format as required.

Depending on what settings you have, when you apply a template to an open chart it will take a copy of the security and apply the required template, leaving the original chart open in the background. You will get an error when you try to save the new chart if you haven't first closed the old chart.

wabbit

Reseting a Securities Layout, etc

There is probably a painfully simple fix for this, but so far I can't find anything.

I've accidentally deleted the volume window from the bottom of a security, which appears when you first load it. But can't figure out how to get it back.

How do you reset a security to your desired default layout. IE Price & volume data windows & Y-Axis scale, etc.

Also when I try to "Apply Template" to the security, it always wants to create a new chart which you can't save over the original security file.

Thanx & sorry for the braindead questions. :)
