Data transfer in real-time mode?

Hello,
I yave a problem with transfer data in real time. I have MetaStock11 Pro, and By means of QuoteCentre the data is normally refreshed.
But I wish to obtain still the data in real-time mode from the Russian system the trading Internet.

Installing MS 11

While installing MS 11 for QuoteCenter I received the following error message.

Error while renaming "Packages" folder @ C"\ProgramFiles\Equis\QuoteCenter\Packages
Please correct before contiuning.

Any ideas?

In trying to work through this I appear to have installed MS but the QuoteCenter does not appear to be correctly installed. When installing MS I received a message that my formula file is full. The program continued to install and seems to be working. Did it not install all of the new formulas or were some of the old formulas deleted to make room for the new ones?

Hello,

I use the Quotecenter for Europe with German Spot Market.

A lot of stock quotes (german stocks) showing the wrong volumes in the field ask size and bid size. Not really wrong, but its seems the volumes are rounded, depends on the field quote unit size. If the quote unit size (FLD_BF_TE_QUOTE_UNIT_SIZE) of a stock has the value "1" the bid/ask size is showing correct. When the Quote unit size has the value "100" the bid ask/size is being rounded e.g. the real bid size in my other realtimesystems is 2336 , quotecenter bid size field shows only the value "23"

Is it somehow possible to change the value of the Quote Unit Field to the value "1" for all stocks or to fix this problem in some other ways ?

Quotecenter realtime data into excel

Hi,

I trying to get realtime data from Quotecenter into excel. My requirement is to get data of 500 symbols into excel at 1, 5-min interval.

I know that DDE can provide data into excel but somehow not able to set that up. If someone can provide me a sample file/giude me that would be great.

I have added Add-ins , Btool, BExtra to excel but when i try to run Dynamic symbol table, it gives me a message "Unable to connect to Reutrers Station ot you are not permissioned for BExtra."

I am connected to Reuters station. Do I need any separate permissions for BExtra?

Intraday Historical Data

I just subscribed to Quote Center. I was using eSignal with QLink (DDE) previously. Can Quote Center's DDE application fill intraday historical data? I need my spreadsheets to display close data at hourly intervals but for all hours of the day and night (0:00 to 24:00), not just session hours. QLink would fill the hours in which there was no activity with the last trade. Can Quote Center do this?

I am not currently subscribed to Metastock Pro. Can the Metastock downloader do this?

FTSE 100 Index?

I have just changed from EOD to intraday data with QuoteCenter. I have the European data and North American data packages. However I went to look in the "Indices" folder expecting to find the FTSE 100 index and it seems to not be there. There also seem to be many of the LSE sector indices missing. Have I missed something? The FTSE 100 index is one of my main markets so I need to find it somewhere.

Market Watch - Bid Size , Ask Size

I have the Quotecenter for Europe and the Middle East, I noticed that the Bid Size which should be equivalent to the Bid Volume and the Ask Size which is is equivalent to the Offer Volume does differ then the information given by the market itself, is there any other volume or quotecenter displaying wrong data....????? also how can I view the market depth for the European and Middle Eastern stocks...??

However I don't have Norton AV. I've disabled windows firewall and Symantic AntiVirus Auto-Protect and still the QuoteCenter hangs on 'Starting data retrieval'.

I've installed a packet sniffer and that seems to indicate that QuoteCenter is doing *something* over TCP for the first 30min or so, but after that it stops any network traffic and just sits there like a useless lump.

What might I be doing wrong??

- Didn't work out of the box.
- Started with v9, updated to v10.1 and still the same behaviour
- Internet connection is ADSL2
- No known error reports (yet - I'll let it sit over night and see what happens. I'll likely get a few viruses for my trouble what with this completely unprotected net connection sitting around.)

I am thinking of switching to QuoteCenter but need to know if the Forex live and historical intraday include forex activity (tick) volume from accross the 800 or so contributing banks? As in

I subscribed ZoomDynaQ service for Forex data to have Market Maker + Market Depth datas.
On the site they say ZoomDynaQ is for OTC markets. Forex is an OTC market, so i would know why i pay for a service that doesn't work for forex traders like me.

Many other datafeeds have tick volume on their forex datafeeds, including eSignal, gain etc.

Can we expect the same from Reuters, or does Reuters have an agreement not to give an advantage to retails traders?.

If any one else agrees with me, then post you support and let Metastock know that others want it too.

I have an easy query, but do not know how to find the answer.

I am trying to find com parables and companies that operate in certain industries.

Is there a way to Search for Symbols by Industry / Sector in QuoteCenter. I am looking to enter an industry or sector code and then get a list of symbols.

I have tried loading chains, but this limits the search to those symbols that are part of an index (I think).

I am a long time user of Metastock EOD (started with 3.5!), but have never used RT data till now. Yesterday, I signed up for Quotecenter.

I reinstalled Metastock Pro 8 and have now setup Reuters datalinnk as the datavendor. But the problem is, I have no idea how I can access the real time data?!! In Metastock how do I access say, the 10 min RT chart for a Dow stock or one of the indices? What about foreign stocks (I signed up also for Asia Pacific data).

BTW, I think I am connecting to the Reuters datalink server ok from Metastock/Downloaderand I have gone to the advanced tab and reset the port to 7985, as instructed in th welcome email.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the help last time, I was able to get QuoteCenter connect to the internet after all.

The "FrontPage" in QuoteCenter [which provides all the news updates] is not working on the laptop on which I am working at the moment. It shows the following error :

Cannot load XML data.
Retrieval ID: 85609+05SEP2008+RTRS;1

It was working on my desktop previously but I am not able to view it on the laptop.
Please help!

Hi,

I just subscribed for QuoteCentre.I already had MS Pro 10.1.

1) There seems to be another program to install,which would NOT installed named QuoteCenter Software (QuoteCentre851.exe),as it looked like i already had the folders it was trying to install.

2) So i opened MS Pro and entered the correct username and password in the Reuters NewsBridge ( i think its correct) with the info from the "Access your QuoteCenter Account" email to allow "running the software and datafeed",and MS Pro 10.1 opened.

3)When i opened the chart for security zgz8 (and zg z8).Both times i got a message in the chart saying "data unavailable" for both security codes.

4) I also did subscribe for Live Data for the CBOT,and received the order confirmation and saw in the "subscriptions" in my account at equis.com that it was "active"

Ques1) I cannot seem to find how to change the username and password,if that is the wrong one.

Ques2) I am also wondering if i really need that QuoteCentre851.exe to install,as the version of MS PRO is for QuoteCentre,not the eod or other version.

What is the matter with it ?

Lost the entire c:\mesatock directory....please help

Somehow i managed to lose the entire directory created by the datalink symbol utility. (c:\Metactock\etc etc (http://www.equis.com/Customer/Support/KB/faq.aspx?fc=661)) as described in the above link.

I tryed re-installing Metastock and no luck...

could anyone please tel me how I can recover these files or possibly just Zip your C:\metastock foder and upload it somewhere like mediafire.com and send me a link...

I'm completely screwed without it and have no clue how to get it back.

New to Reuters price data via MetaStock - is the price adjusted for cash dividends?

Hi,

I just started subscribing to daily closing price data via Reuters DataLink. My understanding, from MetaStock support, is that the closing prices of US stocks are not adjusted for cash dividends. Obviously, ex-dividend the price will show a decline to the extent of the dividend. What's the most efficient way to adjust for cash dividend. The MetaStock support suggested obtaining ex-dividend dates and ex-dividend amounts and making corresponding price adjustments. However, MetaStock does not sell that data OR have suggestions as to where to purchase it from.

Any suggestions on how to adjust this issue, will be apreciated.
