License Manager Internet activate / de-activate problem

I have my Metastock 10.1 (upgraded to 10.1c already) installed on both my laptop (Vista) and desktop (Vista) at home. What I am trying to do it to bring the license with me to my office laptop (XP) everyday.

I de-activate my home laptop license successfully, but I simply cannot activate my metastock in the office. It keep saying "The License Number has already been used". I have checked and the license on my home laptop has already been returned.

I called Metastock technical support and so far we cannot resolve the issue yet.

I know I can move the license manually, but internet activation/deactivation is an easier method.

Can anyone help?

My MetaStock is EOD version 10.1
I forget to de-license during re-install my WinXP, after that, i cannot use product activation.

Then my dealer helped me to send out e-mail to Metastock to deactivate...few days later...he replied
Metastock deactivated my license already...but when i tried....still failed...

Then he teached me to use Phone/Email License to get unlocking Key and install license....ok, then i tried...then, i remembered there was a box came out saying that the unlocking key successful something like that....

However, when i used Internet De-activate again(i want to re-install my WinXP again), it said "The necessary license file is missing"....

Now i am trapped between activation and de-activation, activation said my license already registered but, deactivation said "The necessary license file is missing"....i don't know what to do.....

Pls. help!!

How to change the template when opening smart charts

The first time I opened a smart chart the default template were applied to all charts - since then I have changed the default template - now when I open smart charts it opens with different templates, even if I open charts fron the explorer reports it opens with different templates - how can I rectify this so that the chatrs open with the same template?

hi there i am having heaps of trouble just learning how to use metastock, i am getting my data from dataHQ, is there a basic step by step instructions on how to use this and how to load the data in to it, for people like me that are starting from scratch.

NASDAQ Broad Market Indicator - MS 10.1

Decided to check the Expert in the Nasdaq composite Tape Index (Nasdaq BM indicator) in MS 10.1 compared with the same one described in the training CD and workbook titled "Finding the Right Trades with MetaStock". I don't think the bullish/bearish trends are calculated the same. The book says that the bull/bear trend is determined when the tape index medium term rises or falls below the Bollinger Bands whereas in MS10.1 the bull/bear trend appears to be calculated using the tape index short term without the use of Bollinger bands. Am I correct? Has there been some analysis to prove that the Nasdaq BM indicator in MS 10.1 is better than described in the workbook?

Folder does not exist

Hi,

Has anyone of you guys encountered such a problem? When I open MetaStock (version 6.52) sometimes a window pops up with a message 'Such folder does not exist. Create the folder?' and two options: Y/ N. The first one (Yes) can't be chosen. After clicking 'No' another window pops up telling me 'Insuficient data sources to fulfill price data request'. But the programme works perfectly normal.

Fortunately I can close this window so I can work normally, but as it is quite annoying do you know what I can do to stop it appearing?

How to set these Indicators???

Hi I have problem setting these indicators:

MACD(8,17,9) where 9 is the signal line, 17 is the long period and 8 is the short period.

Slow Stochastics (14,3) where 14 is %k and 3 is %D.

Volume SMA (50).

I cannot find the indicators on the scroll down list to do the above (Maybe they are named differently). Pls above.

Convert error 2053

Hello,
I am trying to use the convert tool in the downloader but I keep getting the same error
2053
According to the help this means "The destination file could not be opened or created because of some type of disk error"
Does anyone have any more detailed information
on this error ?
I tried different files and saving it to different directories in different formats but it always comes up with the same error

Microsoft updates causing widespread program problems

I notice that several programs (not from Microsoft) which used to run satisfactorily on my Win XP computer are now suddenly crashing. The only things I have changed on my PC are to download updates from Microsoft - mainly security related.

For example:

AVG anti-virus hangs when downloading an updated anti-virus database.

Systemsuite 7.0 suddenly closes when using Registry Cleaner.

My PC regularly freezes for about 15 seconds as the disk thrashes - perhaps it is Windows paging programs?

Is anyone else experiencing similar problems? In what programs? please advise.

Urgent - Data Error in Metastock data feeds from eSignal

Hallo Technical Team,

I need urgent assistance with Metastock data feeds from eSignal. There was a data error with eSignal in the EURUSD chart for 2 Dec 2007 and it is causing problems with Metastock charts. eSignal already fixed the data for 2 Dec 2007 as the charts are 100% correct now. However, it seems as if the new data only reflects in the daily charts in Metastock but not in any of the intraday charts. Any comments and or suggestions on how to fix this will be welcomed.

i updated from version 9 to 10 ( uninstall 1st of course )
but now i cant view the intraday .dat files it doesnt show on meta 10 it shows an empty folder , but the folder isnt empty and the downloader and explorer and test can see the files

MSWIN 9.1 and multiple monitors -- better vid card?

Hi ya'll,

A couple questions for the peanut gallery, since it's been so dead of late. (I assume everyone's been trading the hell out of the gold stocks!)

I currently run MSWIN 9.1 RT using dual monitors and an older Matrox G550 dual-dvi card with two Viewsonic VG17b monitors using DVI.

Because the video card has only 32 Mb memory, I'm getting increasingly slow response times with the video refresh as my RT charts get more complex. (The rest of the system is not in question; trust me...)

1. I'd dearly love to go to 4 digital monitors -- anyone have some leads on how to accomplish this using Windows 2000 without breaking the bank?

2. If I can't get to 4 monitors, anyone have a recommendation for a better AGP video card which will support dual-DVI? I've skimmed the specs on newer Matrox cards, but they don't seem to offer a whole lot of improvement, though I may have missed something.

i have created an indicator and it calculates value on previous day basis. single day previous.

now i know what value comes out. but it being one single point is shown as dot on chart.

is that possible that instead of dot, i can get a horizontal line in its place automatically.

If all you're using ZA for is as a firewall, you might try the standard Windows firewall unless you have something special going on. If you're using ZA antivirus, well, the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. I had to make a worm exception to get MS Pro to work under Norton AV. Gosh, I've been a Peter Norton groupie since the 8088 work he did, but I got fed up with all of the AV/ NIS problems since 2002. I switched to McAfee and haven't looked back... well, maybe a glance every now and then.

"Insert disk" will be a problem

I have Metastock EOD 9.0 (bought new from Paritech,have paperwork etc) but when moving house recently I seem to have lost the Metastock CD. When using Metastock in the past a message has come up from time to time,asking for the CD to be inserted. This is not a problem at the moment, but when/if the message comes up next time it is going to be. Any ideas?

Hello,

Did anyone have this problem before? I have installed Metastock Pro 9, but have no real-time data provider and use end-of-the day data. Whenever I try to open a chart (File->Open) it takes about 10-12 hours to File dialog to pop-up.

Any ideas?
