Can't change basicchart background to black [resolved]

    Hi,

I have a chart layout with two inner windows and the chart window. I can change the inner windows' chart backgrounds to black using right click properties. However, this does not work for the middle chart window. I'm trying to create a new template/layout [can't ever figure out which one to use]. Have about 20 securities in one favorites folder. Want each security to show the same inner windows and middle chart properties when I "black arrow" click in the bottom right corner to the next security. Am using the option "Use chart as template and "Change all charts in layout". Please advise.

    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hey Joe-

Once you have a style that you like, right-click in the inner window that you like and select 'apply to all inner windows". Then all windows should look the same. After that, save your style as a template: FILE | SAVEAS | TEMPLATE and give the template a name. Next, select FILE | OPEN | OPTIONS | 'Open with template' and select your template; select a new security and open. Your smart chart will update automatically. You will have to manually do this for all of your existing securities to have your new template applied.

The alternative would be to delete existing smart charts, set your new template as the default and then as you opened future securities, your new template would be applied.
