The column headers in the Downloader would make life easier if they were sortable..I'm trying to create new folders and have to copy data to it. If I could sort by symbol - it would be so much easier than trying to figure out how the company name is listed. In fact, how about making all columns sortable by their headers. There are some that do, but it is very annoying to find the ones you want can't be sorted.

hey vaughn..... perhaps i'm missing the deal here.... which columns are you wanted sorted.... kinda thought all columns sorted or at least the ones i've seen...... your right , it can be a pain finding them sometimes, even with sorting....h

It is probably rarely used, in fact it was the first time I used it in the year and a half I have had MS. It is in the downloader -> Tools -> copy. I wanted to create a couple of folders with custom content. At first copy seemed like the best way. Unfortunately searching for the different names or contractions of names made it insane trying to add items. If those columns were sortable by something unique, like the ticker symbol, life would be easier.

Fortunately I found something G posted that saved the day. People can say what they want about the new board, but a working search capability alone trumps almost all the other differences in my book. I was able to search and found Storkbite's post on lookups and was able to knock out everything I wanted in minutes. I almost didn't even make the post because there was a better way, but it seemed pretty weak to have some columns sort and others not - so I posted it in the wish list in case it was overlooked.
