Where is the SYMBOLS list of FUTURES

    Hello,
i am a little bit annoyed about the less  information of symbols.
I have a Worldwide Futures, Commodities, & Derivatives Data M" subscription
and i want quotes for some futures!
So where can i get the information, which symbols do i need for my
wanted Futures? Wihtout this information i waste time and money!

List list looks that is not for QuoteCenter?

    http://www.equis.com/Customer/Support/Download/Files/commoditieslist.html

For example the german FDAX is in the list FDX, but in QuoteCenter DX.

For me it is incredible because without symbols
QuoteCenter is nothing! Why is there not a quick-manual for symbols?

    The helpfile
Symbol format conventions of QuoteCenter says nothing which symbols do i need for my wanted Futures.

    Please,

PS: the Quick_Guide_for_QuoteCenter.doc from the filesection is empty!

Re: Where is the SYMBOLS list of FUTURES

There is a "Search" function within QuoteCenter.  You can click Search, set the Origin field to All Origins, set the Vehicle Class to Commodity (@) and search by Company Name on the Search String box.  Once you find the symbols within the search results, you can drag and drop them into a MarketWatch window.  Once you have constructed a list in MarketWatch, you can right click on MarketWatch, choose Symbol List and choose Save.

Re: Where is the SYMBOLS list of FUTURES, (search) LookUpCtrl

    Yes,
i searched hours yesterday with the (search) LookUpCtrl from QuoteCenter.
I got now the right symbol from equis support (xe@FESX), but..

I want to show you my ways of searching with the (search) LookUpCtrl:

The Future is: Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50® Index Futures (FESX) http://www.eurexchange.com/trading/products/IDX/STX/FESX.html

    ISIN: DE0009652388
    Underlying ISIN:  EU0009658145
    Currency: EUR

    1.
    If i do
a "Search" like you described with STOXX  as Searchstring, i get only symbols like de@?263528.WMF no EURO STOXX 50® Index Futures (FESX).

    2.
    if i search by
    ISIN: DE0009652388
    no matches found!

    3.
if i search by ISIN the Underlying EU0009658145
i get the index symbol de;SX5E

    4.
    if i search by
    Exchange Symbol (FESX)
    no matches found!

    Question, what would you do
in my position? You have the information of the website from the exchange and want the symbol for QuoteCenter?

Is this future missing in the database?

    The same problem is with:

Dow Jones STOXX 50® Index Futures (FSTX)
    ISIN: DE0009652362
    Underlying ISIN: EU0009658160 de;SX5P

You dont get the xe@FSTX symbol for QuoteCenter.

Re: Where is the SYMBOLS list of FUTURES, (search) LookUpCtrl

There is also a "Load Chain" command that can be used for non-US Futures:

    Open a new MarketWatch

On the symbol field type in the following information (Excluding quotation marks):

    "..!xe!FUTURE" and press Shift-Enter

You can do this for other country codes as well, but some will be broken into specific exchanges.

For example, if I type the following:

"..!de!FUTURE" and press Shift-Enter I get the following:

    de!FUTURE.EX,0
    de!FUTURE.WT,0

If I then type in the following:

    "..!de!FUTURE.EX" and press Shift-Enter

    or

    "..!de!FUTURE.WT" and press Shift-Enter

I will get the futures contracts that trade on these exchanges.  These lists are kept on the servers and may change as time goes on.

Re: Where is the SYMBOLS list of FUTURES, "Load Chain" command

I did, like you described, but this are not the futures of EUREX, i dont know what it is.

..!de!FUTURE (we get 2 exchanges for germany, right?)
    de!FUTURE.EX,0
    de!FUTURE.WT,0

..!de!FUTURE.EX (we should get the future symbols of EUREX, right?)
    de@4FTM.1
    de@4FTQ.1
    de@4FTY.1
    de@EIB,DAY
    de@EIB,MTH
    de@EIP,DAY
    de@EIP,MTH
    de@FTM.1
    de@FTQ.1
    de@FTY.1
    de@LBM.1
    de@LBQ.1
    de@LBY.1
    de@LMCP
    de@LPM.1
    de@LPQ.1
    de@LPY.1

But for example where are this MAIN equity-index-futures?
    xe@DX.1
    xe@TDX.1
    xe@MDAX.1
    xe@SMI.1
    xe@FSTX.1
    xe@FESX.1

PS: i have germany as default, is this important?

Re: Where is the SYMBOLS list of FUTURES, "Load Chain" command

"..!xe!FUTURE" and Shift-Enter should get you what you are looking for.

Re: Where is the SYMBOLS list of FUTURES, "Load Chain" command

    Pyradius:
"..!xe!FUTURE" and Shift-Enter should get you what you are looking for.

    OK!
    Not ..!de!FUTURE.EX

    This is a good approach...
