There seems to be some type of symbol limit / cache problem in QuoteCenter. It
has been reported under Service Request Number 2-4555, I had a talk with Merrill
(on support desk) who managed to simulate the problem on his computer.
I am putting this on the Forum in case anyone knows how to get around this
problem.
To simulate:
- Open a blank workspace and place an ATHENA screen.
- Type in a symbol.
- Type in another symbol.
- Continue typing in new symbols, you will notice that the # of marked
symbols in the Status bar keeps on increasing, even though we are only viewing 1
symbol at a time in Athena.
Basically when QC reaches a limit of 430 it stops updating Athena. Even if
I shut the workspace and open a new workspace there is simply no luck obtaining
any further data, I need to restart QuoteCenter to enter any more symbols.
Setup
Windows XP Professional.
QuoteCenter version 8.2.1 (Build 001)
I have tried on 2 different machines to eliminate any hardware related
issues. I am going to try on Windows 2000 this evening to see if it is an OS
related issue.
