I am a long time user of Metastock EOD (started with 3.5!), but have never used RT data till now. Yesterday, I signed up for Quotecenter.

I reinstalled Metastock Pro 8 and have now setup Reuters datalinnk as the datavendor. But the problem is, I have no idea how I can access the real time data?!! In Metastock how do I access say, the 10 min RT chart for a Dow stock or one of the indices? What about foreign stocks (I signed up also for Asia Pacific data).

BTW, I think I am connecting to the Reuters datalink server ok from Metastock/Downloaderand I have gone to the advanced tab and reset the port to 7985, as instructed in th welcome email.

MetaStock Pro version 8 does not have the ability to connect to QuoteCenter to collect the RT data. You can upgrade to MetaStock Pro version 10.1 for QuoteCenter. With this version it will connect to the QuoteCenter data feed and then you can chart intraday data.
Reuters DataLink does not supply intraday data, as it is only an EOD feed.

I see. Thanks for the reply, looks like I wasted money on a RT subcription based on insufficient information at the Equis site. Live and learn I guess.

Can you help me to download the Asia, Pacific EOD data via Dowwnloader please. I am trying to find the symbols to add, and cant find it at the Equis site. I am trying to data for Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and if available, also for Sri Lanka (Colombo stock exchange). Any help greatly appreciated, many thanks in advance.

International symbols are not included in older versions of Metastock (these are included in the latest versions).
On the equis.com support pages, you can find a file that installs all of the Asian symbol files, for Reuters DataLink (http://www.equis.com/customer/support/download/Symbols.aspx)
After this file is installed, restart Metastock/The DownLoader, you will then be able to access these lists.
